24x30” on deep-profile archival canvas
This piece leans a touch more abstract than my usual work, an attempt to capture the breath of autumn as it moves through the trees. The birches are aflame, their leaves set loose to wander, drifting through amber air as the season exhales. I wanted to hold that in-between moment when the forest shivers with light and motion blurs into quiet.
Flecks of paint flicker like wind-blown sparks, carrying the hush and shimmer of falling color without overpowering the fox hidden almost in plain sight. He rests, half-lit by the setting sun, eyes closed to the wind, content to blend into the rhythm of fall.
He is stillness amid the swirl, warmth at the edge of winter’s reach, the embodiment of peace in the gentle collapse of color and sound. For a fleeting moment the season wraps around him in quiet joy, and the world itself seems to pause and breathe.
